Canadian-owned subsidiary executes mining convention with Niger
What happened
Madaouela Mining Company SA, a Nigerien subsidiary of Atomic Eagle, formally executed a Convention with the Republic of Niger in Niamey on September 25, 2026. The agreement establishes legal, fiscal, and regulatory stabilization measures and sets the framework for project financing and offtake arrangements. The Convention grants an initial ten-year term for the mineral exploitation permit held by MAMICO, which is co-owned by the Republic of Niger.
Why it matters
The agreement provides a stable legal and fiscal framework for the uranium project, following a period when the government of Niger withdrew mining rights from GoviEx Uranium Inc in 2024. This new framework supports long-term tenure for the mineral exploitation permit.
