DRC and Trident Limited launch digital ID system under 20-year partnership

The Democratic Republic of Congo is transitioning into the operational phase of its digital ID, RDC-Pass, in collaboration with Trident Limited. The collaboration was formalized under a 20-year Public-Private Partnership agreement. Training began on September 16 in Kinshasa for 50 biometric enrollment agents ahead of a pilot phase. RDC-Pass is intended to provide citizens with a unique digital identifier for accessing public and private sector services.

The digital ID is designed to provide citizens with a unique identifier for accessing public and private sector services. The implementation is being handled locally by Tridentity Digital Tech DRC Africa SAS. The government stated that RDC-Pass will not replace the existing national ID system that was launched in 2023.
