Haverty Furniture Plans Market Expansion into Pittsburgh

Haverty Furniture Companies, a 141-year-old residential furniture retailer, announced plans to expand into the Pittsburgh area. The company stated this move would establish its location in its 18th state, targeting the fourth quarter for entry. Haverty reported positive comparable-store sales, which were up 8% in the second quarter, supported by an average ticket increase of roughly 15%.

The expansion leverages Haverty's strong design sales business, which accounted for nearly 36.5% of revenue during the reported quarter. The company operates primarily in Southern and Midwestern markets and monitors factors like freight costs, promotional activity, and tariff uncertainty.
