Plans for a large data centre, including associated generators, plant, and a sub-station, have been lodged at the former Ferodo/Friction Dynamic site near Caernarfon. The project, which is situated in the administrative area of Gwynedd, has attracted a petition exceeding 18,000 signatures from local residents. Concerns raised by the community focus on the project's impact on water supply, air pollution, local wildlife, and the proximity to the Menai Strait.

The development promises around 915 construction jobs and 210 operational roles for Welsh residents.
