Brownwood Adds 41,000 Square Feet of Retail Space with Shops on Commerce Opening

The City of Brownwood and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for Shops on Commerce, a new five-store retail center located at 537 W. Commerce. The development adds 41,000 square feet of retail space to Brownwood, comprising the stores Five Below, Bath & Body Works, Ulta Beauty, James Avery Jewelry, and Ross. Ross and Ulta Beauty are scheduled to open on October 9th, while the other three stores are already operational.

City Manager Marshal McIntosh stated that the project expands Brownwood's retail and national retail footprint. The development was made possible through the efforts of economic development director Ray Tipton. Mayor Stephen Hayne also commented on the importance of concentrated retail development for the community.
