Petition Filed Over Office Building Construction in Palakkad

An NGO called ANEC Trust filed an urgent petition in Palakkad concerning the construction of the Eastern Circle office building. The petition, submitted to an official in Thiruvananthapuram, raises concerns over changing the building’s intended use and alleges that contractors were verbally instructed to demolish completed record rooms. The record rooms are intended to house over 3,000 case files.

The controversy centers on the procedural and financial integrity of a public infrastructure project in Palakkad, which was funded by NABARD. The petition seeks an independent inquiry into the alleged irregularities surrounding the building’s sanctioned plans and use.
