What happened
Governors of Nigeria’s North-west states presented the North-west Peace, Security and Development Framework 2026–2030 in New York. The framework, which was adopted by seven states in March 2026, seeks international financing and private investment to address insecurity and improve social services. The presentation was held at an event on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
