Mayors call for revival of tramway plan linking Lachine and LaSalle to downtown core
What happened
Four borough mayors, including those from Lachine and LaSalle, called on the provincial government to revive a tramway plan linking the southwest area to the downtown core. The Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain studied six scenarios in January 2024 to boost public transit in the area. These scenarios included adding a tramway, bus-rapid-transit corridor, or a métro extension along a corridor identified between 32nd Ave. in Lachine and the Angrignon métro station.
