Fresh Weather System Brings Rain and Low Temperatures to Delhi NCR

The monsoon withdrew from Delhi on September 23, two days ahead of its usual withdrawal date of September 25. A fresh weather system is now expected to bring rain to Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad over the coming days. The India Meteorological Department noted that this combination of a Western Disturbance and the monsoon withdrawal line is causing cloud cover, southeasterly winds of 20 to 25 kmph, and high humidity. The IMD also warned of minor traffic disruption and waterlogging risks in low-lying areas.

The low temperatures in the region are significantly below normal, with minimum temperatures in parts of Delhi ranging from 3.1°C to 5.0°C lower than usual at isolated places. Daytime temperatures are also lower than the late September heat typically seen in the city. The IMD expects a further fall of 3 to 4°C in the coming days.
