Lancaster Data Center Expansion Faces Zoning Appeal and Hearing Derailment

A county court judge ruled that a zoning hearing regarding the second data center on Greenfield Road in Lancaster would not proceed as scheduled. The decision was made after an appeal was filed by Tony Dastra on behalf of the residents’ group, Lancaster Residents Against Glut and Exhaust. The developers stated that the appeal was partially moot because they had already invested $1.3 billion in the first of two centers.

The group argues that the initial approval for the second data center was a zoning determination that could be appealed. The developers are involved in a larger lawsuit seeking declaratory judgment regarding the project's future.
