Aeon, a Japanese supermarket operator, is planning to enter Vietnam with small-format stores targeting middle-class consumers in Ho Chi Minh City. The company currently operates 56 stores in Japan, mainly around Tokyo, and plans to eventually build a 100-store network in Vietnam. Aeon is also pursuing a major local rollout in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming for 100 general merchandise stores and super-supermarkets alongside 200 smaller grocery stores by 2030.
