MP raises concerns over Lomba Tantum cable car service failure in Brava

Ivone Cardoso, a Member of Parliament for the Movement for Democracy (MpD), raised concerns regarding the status of the Lomba Tantum cable car in Brava. The cable car, which serves the fishing community, is currently out of service. Cardoso stated that the Prime Minister had publicly announced the repairs would be complete within 27 days, a deadline she said was not met. After the work was reportedly done, new issues arose, leading the local authority to shut down the equipment, leaving constraints for the fishing community.

The issues are reportedly linked to a lack of coordination with local authorities. The cable car is important for the transportation and daily activities of fishermen and fishmongers in Lomba Tantum. Cardoso also discussed the situation with residents regarding the shutdown of the local fishing cooperative.
