He stated that the works, based on the Thirupugazh Committee recommendations, are incomplete; of the proposed 1,093-km network, work has been done on 1,045 km, with about 48 km still pending. Furthermore, interconnection work is pending at 68 of the 105 identified locations, and desilting is incomplete in 41 percent of the inlet structures along the 1,682-km network.
