Criticism mounts over policy ideas allegedly recycled from Starmer era

Jacob Rees-Mogg has accused Andy Burnham of recycling policy ideas that were developed during the tenure of Keir Starmer. The criticism follows a Sky News investigation into leaked policy documents from April, which detailed around 50 ideas.

The policy ideas at the center of the dispute include fiscal devolution and a proposed overnight visitor levy. Rees-Mogg argued that a charge on accommodation could place businesses inside levy zones at a competitive disadvantage compared to those outside the boundary.
