Arc of Tri-Cities faces budget cuts to parent support program

The Arc of Tri-Cities, which provides resources for parents and guardians of children with autism or Down syndrome, is facing budget reductions. Governor Ferguson's office confirmed that the program would be cut by 10%, though it would not be fully defunded. The organization currently receives funding hovering just above $870,000 per year, which is 10% less than the previous year's budget.

The organization's funding is only assured until the next annual review. The cuts are part of a review of programs created or expanded after January 1, 2019, by Governor Ferguson's office.
