Armenia Administrative Court Overturns Ruling on 10,000 Sq Meter Land Plot
What happened
The Administrative Court of Appeal has successfully challenged a previous ruling regarding a 10,000-square-meter land plot located in Victory Park. The court granted the complaint filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office, overturning and amending the Administrative Court’s March 11, 2024 ruling. This action declares the direct land sale agreement from May 29, 2008, and the state registration of ownership rights invalid.

Why it matters
As a result of the successful challenge, the 10,000-square-meter plot will be returned to the Republic of Armenia. The original 2008 decision by the Yerevan mayor granting the plot to Golden Palace Hotel LLC is now rendered invalid due to the plot falling within restrictions stipulated by Article 60 of the Land Code.
