Braintree Council Reviews Residential Conversion Proposal; Google Launches Local Notice…

Braintree Council is reviewing a proposal to convert a former water tower into a self-build home. The structure, located in Lyons Hall Road, High Garrett, is intended to be a one-off residential project. The applicant is seeking fresh permission because the previous application to convert the site had expired. The applicant stated that the design follows the tower’s unusual shape and that the project is not intended for sale. A concerned neighbor requested a construction plan and limits on working hours to manage noise and dust.

The applicant for the residential conversion project is planning to live in the structure. Separately, Google is partnering with some of the country’s largest and most trusted local newspapers to create a Public Notice Portal. This portal collects statutory public notices published in local papers and is intended to be the fastest way for residents to find information about their neighborhood.
