Business Sectors Call for Policy Interventions on Tax, Energy, and Trade

The business community has made various calls for government policy intervention regarding economic issues globally. In Pakistan, the SME auto parts sector raised concerns regarding proposed tax relief on luxury vehicles priced above PKR 10 million. The industry urged the government to reduce the sales tax on vehicles with engine capacities below 1,000cc from 18% to 9% to support small and medium enterprises. Separately, a government official stated that efforts are underway to cut business costs to boost entrepreneurship and business survival, encouraging the use of industrial parks. President Delcy Rodríguez also met with business leaders to strengthen strategies for the Electrical Energy Saving Plan in response to climate change impacts.
