Trump Administration ICE Funding and Leadership Status Under Review

The administration of President Donald Trump is noted for utilizing Office of Management and Budget data regarding the funding of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. The agency was allocated $75 billion under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which became law in July 2025. At the time, the administration had withdrawn the nominee for the ICE director, Lance Schroyer, leaving David Venturella to perform the duties of the director while a replacement was sought. The Senate Budget Committee's analysis found that $61 billion of the allocation remained unobligated at the end of June 2026.

The funding structure for ICE, which also received $38.5 billion under the Secure America Act, is currently under review due to the leadership vacancy. The administration's reliance on OMB data highlights the operational status of the agency under the current leadership structure.
