MP Demands Government Action Over Severn Trent Water Outages in Redditch

Chris Bloore raised concerns in the House of Commons regarding repeated water outages affecting residents in Redditch due to Severn Trent's operational failures. Mr Bloore noted that vulnerable residents, including new mothers, were sometimes left without bottled water deliveries despite being on the company’s Priority Services Register. He pressed for a review of the viability of privatized water companies.

The concerns centered on the disconnect between rising water bills and the quality of service provided by the company. In response to the concerns, the Leader of the House of Commons confirmed that Ministers were examining ways to increase public control over water companies and ensure bills remained affordable.
