What happened
Lexington is currently engaged in construction on a new sanitary sewer project on Tates Creek Road. This work is part of a larger requirement stemming from a 2006 lawsuit filed by Kentucky and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regarding Clean Water Act violations. The city is required to complete 113 projects, with 91 already finished or removed, leaving nine remaining projects under construction.
