Himachal Pradesh CM Announces Welfare Scheme Changes in Mandi District

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu addressed a public meeting in Mandi district, where he announced several welfare and development initiatives for Himachal Pradesh. He changed the eligibility criteria for the ‘Mukhya Mantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana’ by removing the requirement of completing one day of MGNREGA work. Additionally, the annual family income limit was raised from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000, and eligible women over the age of 21 would receive a monthly pension of Rs 1,500.

The announcements represent shifts in state welfare policy and resource allocation within Himachal Pradesh. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also criticized the previous government, alleging that it pushed the state into a debt trap and misused Rs 60,000 crore received through GST compensation and Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG).
