Ember Reports on Türkiye's Rapid Growth in Wind and Solar Capacity
What happened
Ember reported that in the first seven months of 2026, Türkiye generated 61% of its electricity from renewable sources. Solar generation reached 15% of the total in July, which was half again higher than the previous year's average. Türkiye's solar capacity doubled between 2023 and 2025, and wind and solar supplied 22% of the country's electricity by the end of 2025.
