What happened
The Florida Department of Transportation is pursuing a $280 million state project to create a new interchange at I-10 and Beulah Road. To complete the interchange, the Department of Transportation needs more than 17 acres owned by Escambia County. Escambia County commissioners are set to vote on a land exchange with the Department of Transportation. In this exchange, the state would trade three acres of property on North Palafox for the required county land.
