Criticism mounts over housing policy failures in Ireland amid price hikes

Sheehan argued that the reliance on the private market was proving unsustainable given the low housing supply and rising prices.

The criticism targets the housing policies of both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil, suggesting that years of policy approaches have led to market instability. The issues raised include the high rate of asking-price inflation and a 50 per cent increase in tenancy termination notices.
