Report Finds 70% of India's Global Capability Centres Stuck at AI Pilot Stage

A joint report released by Dell Technologies and Zinnov outlines significant scaling challenges facing India's Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The report found that nearly 70 per cent of these GCCs are currently stalled at the AI pilot stage due to foundational gaps in data, infrastructure, and governance. Key bottlenecks identified include fragmented data, legacy systems, unclear governance, and immature security controls.

India hosts over 2,100 GCCs, which employ 2.36 million professionals and generated USD 98.4 billion in revenue by FY26. The report notes that approximately 55 per cent of routine GCC work is exposed to AI-led automation, requiring that nearly 60 per cent of the workforce undergoes reskilling by 2030 for future success.
