Goleta to Maintain Depot for Amtrak Operations

The Goleta City Council reviewed the operational plan for the new train station, which is located at 27 S. La Patera Lane. The facility is a 9,000-square-foot building, costing $32 million, and will serve as Goleta’s first train station the city operates and maintains. The station will be open seven days a week, year-round, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., though it will be closed on city-recognized holidays.

The agreement allows Amtrak to utilize the depot for its services. The facility will operate on a largely self-service basis, monitored via video surveillance with no permanent staff on site.
