Northwestern Faculty Seek Unionization, Affiliating with Illinois Federation of Teachers

More than 100 non-tenure eligible and adjunct faculty members from Northwestern’s six undergraduate schools gathered to announce they are seeking to establish the United Academics of Northwestern University. They plan to affiliate with the Illinois Federation of Teachers. The public organizing effort included IFT President Stacy Davis Gates and Mayor Daniel Biss. The Illinois Federation of Teachers represents over 100,000 education professionals statewide.
