Indian Trusts Begin Listing Receipts in International Financial Services Centre
What happened
Indian trusts are now listing receipts, denominated in foreign currency, on the India International Exchange and NSE International Exchange within the International Financial Services Centre. This allows REITs and InvITs to issue fresh units or facilitate the transfer of existing units for issuing DRs. The regulator has prescribed eligibility conditions, requiring participants not to be debarred, classified as wilful defaulters, or designated as fugitive economic offenders.
