International Bodies Assess Post-War Viability of Palestine; Reconstruction Plan Unveiled

Sir Tony Blair called for Gaza to transition from a state of war to one focused on reconstruction, stating that lasting peace requires the region to live peacefully with its neighbors. Speaking at a Board of Peace gathering during the UN General Assembly, Blair noted that 70 percent of Gaza is destroyed. The Board of Peace unveiled a $2.45 billion program for the first stage of Gaza’s reconstruction and governance, which includes projects for temporary housing, hospital repairs, water and electricity infrastructure restoration, economic recovery, and preparations for a multinational security force.

The international assessment focuses on the viability of the post-war administration framework in Gaza. The announced funding package targets a heavily damaged region, outlining a path toward economic recovery through infrastructure projects and governance shifts. The plan is moving toward implementation in the coming year.
