Township Officials Face Questions Over Flood Response and Grant Fund Use

South Strabane residents expressed frustration with township officials regarding frequent flooding that occurred earlier this month. During a public comment period, residents questioned the board about the lack of a routine procedure to check the internal condition of publicly owned storm sewer pipes. A resident suggested that $150,000 in previously allocated grant funding should have been used for stormwater drainage improvements instead of maintenance work at Driscoll Park.

The discussion centered on the use of public funds and the adequacy of infrastructure management in the face of repeated environmental challenges. Vice Chairman Jeff Bull stated he would look into how the specific grant funding was utilized.
