Israeli Government Announces Support for Fresh Produce Exports Amid European Bans

The Israeli government has announced a plan to assist companies operating in illegal settlements affected by European commitments to ban their goods due to escalating human rights abuses against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The government has established a dedicated team to help these companies find alternative markets, including India, the Philippines, the UAE, Chile, and Argentina. The assistance also includes potential compensation of up to 200,000 shekels ($54,000) for affected firms.

The initiative signals a government effort to mitigate the impact of European boycotts on specific agricultural producers. The government stated that while not all countries are boycotting, Spain and the Netherlands are among the few places in Europe where a effective boycott is in place.
