The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is moving to privatize four state-run certified community behavioral health clinics in Oklahoma. The agency stated that the goal of the transition is to strengthen the sustainability of the behavioral healthcare system and save taxpayer dollars. The four private providers selected to operate the clinics are Family and Children's Services in Tulsa, Grand Mental Health in northwest Oklahoma, CREOKS Health Services in eastern Oklahoma, and Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers in southern Oklahoma.

Why it matters
The agency is currently managing the transition process for its state-run centers, which a spokesperson said involved 'a few hundred' employees. Over 90% of those employed by the state-run clinics have received job offers from the private providers.
