McGuire pushes for NPS right-of-way for emergency exit route
What happened
John McGuire, who is seeking re-election, introduced the Wintergreen Emergency Egress Act in November 2025. This legislation requires the United States Department of the Interior to grant a right-of-way across certain National Park Service property. This access would allow for the construction of an additional emergency exit route for the Wintergreen community in Nelson County. During a recent rally, McGuire also credited Glenn Youngkin with helping attract $20 billion in business investment and approximately 7,000 jobs to the 5th Congressional District.
