Mount Clemens City Commissioners delay cannabis dispensary permit renewal

Mount Clemens city commissioners tabled the renewal application for Joyology Cannabis Dispensary on September 21, 2026, because the dispensary failed to construct a required parking lot as detailed in its site plan. The commission delayed action for 30 days to determine if the company makes “significant and meaningful” progress on the construction.

The failure to complete the required parking lot could lead to the revocation of Joyology Cannabis Dispensary's license, potentially forcing the business out of Mount Clemens. The cannabis operators noted that the construction, which costs between $350,000 and $400,000, was delayed due to difficulty finding a contractor.
