Reconstruction of Fresh Creek Bridge Underway in Andros
What happened
The Fresh Creek Bridge in Andros, which was condemned in August due to its age, is currently undergoing reconstruction efforts overseen by Clay Sweeting, Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs. The initial plan to repair the existing structure was estimated at $400,000. However, a temporary bridge construction estimate of over $10 million was deemed unfeasible by the ministry. Officials stated that a Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued in the coming months for the engineered design and construction of a new bridge.
