Vietnam Extends Anti-Dumping Duties on Polyester Filament Yarn Imports
What happened
Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade extended anti-dumping duties on polyester filament yarn imports originating from China, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The duties, which range from 3.36 per cent to 54.9 per cent, will remain in effect from October 16, 2026, through October 15, 2031. The measure was approved following a review that found imported products continued to be dumped in the Vietnamese market.

Why it matters
The government stated that the duties help create fairer competition and support domestic producers by maintaining production capacity. Without these measures, the ministry warned that imports could rise rapidly at lower prices, putting pressure on domestic producers through price undercutting.
