Litecoin Gains 37% This Month Amid Increased Network Activity
What happened
Litecoin (LTC) currently ranks 24th by market capitalization and has risen 37% this month, marking its best performance since November 2024. In the past 24 hours, the price gained nearly 8% to $66, the highest since January. The Litecoin Foundation stated that over $1 billion in 24 hours moved across the network, which they attribute to increased economic activity on the chain.

Why it matters
The price movement is occurring ahead of the cryptocurrency's scheduled halving cycle, which cuts block rewards by 50% every four years. The next halving is due next July, reducing per-block rewards to 3.125 LTC. Analysts also noted that confidence remains that any pain from rising bond yields could be short-lived.
