Mastercard supports risk management forum in Baku, Azerbaijan

Mastercard supported the International Risk Forum, which was initiated by ABB Bank in Baku. The event gathered regulatory authorities, financial sector executives, and global risk management professionals. Abbas Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Management Board of ABB Bank, noted that geopolitical uncertainty, economic volatility, AI, and cyber threats require a fundamental rethink of risk management. Toghrul Aliyev, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Zakir Nuriyev, President of the Azerbaijan Banks Association, also participated.

The forum highlighted how global challenges, including economic volatility and cyber threats, are impacting the business environment. Discussions among financial sector leaders and regulatory bodies in Azerbaijan suggest an emphasis on adapting risk models to complex international conditions.
