Metro Bus deploys 104 new buses in Colombo to ease traffic

Metro Bus plans to deploy 104 newly introduced buses across seven routes in the Western Province starting September 29. The initiative aims to improve public transport and reduce the number of private vehicles entering Colombo. Police will also strictly enforce bus priority lanes in the Western Province during morning and evening peak hours from September 29.

The deployment is intended to encourage commuters to use public transport instead of private vehicles. This shift could potentially reduce the volume of private cars entering Colombo during peak hours.
