Government Prioritizes New Building for Mile Gully High School Amid Crisis

Dana Morris Dixon, the Minister of Education, announced that plans to construct a new building for Mile Gully High School in Manchester North Western are a government priority. This was stated in response to concerns raised by Mikael Phillips during the House of Representatives debate. Phillips noted that the school's current condition is unacceptable, stating that only 10 of the 21 needed classrooms are fully habitable. The issues include termite damage to the structure, a leaking staff room, and a canteen that is only half the size of a regular classroom.

The school currently serves over 700 students, and the severe deterioration of the facilities has forced teachers and students to construct temporary classrooms from donated materials. Phillips warned that the compromised state of the school is an indictment of national priorities. The government is now tasked with addressing the infrastructure failure to ensure continuity of education.
