Homes Destroyed in Faulder Community Due to Bald Range Wildfire

The Bald Range wildfire, which was burning under control by the B.C. Wildfire Service, led to the evacuation of thousands from Okanagan communities. The fire roared eastward on the evening of August 7, 2026, resulting in the destruction of most structures in the small community of Faulder outside Summerland, B.C. During the evacuation, an 80-year-old woman who lived in Meadow Valley nearby died suddenly, which was believed to be a result of the wildfire.
