Taiwan Ministry tightens medical qualification rules regarding China-trained doctors

Taiwanese authorities are examining allegations concerning a doctor practicing in Tainan who allegedly used a suspected forged United States medical diploma to obtain a license under a different name. The Ministry of Health and Welfare confirmed that Taiwan does not recognize medical qualifications obtained in China for licensing purposes. This restriction applies to medicine, dentistry, and traditional Chinese medicine under the Act Governing Relations Between the People of Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area.
