MSE Admits NSE Shares to Trade on Platform
What happened
The shares of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) are now permitted to trade on the Metropolitan Stock Exchange (MSE) platform, according to an exchange circular published by MSE. The trading operates under the ‘permitted to trade’ category, which means the shares are not executing a listing agreement with the exchange and do not receive full disclosures. This move allows trading to commence from September 24.
Why it matters
The MSE is allowing trading in the shares of NSE, India's largest stock exchange, which is also a competitor to the BSE. Industry experts suggest that allowing this trading could help bring additional volumes to the MSE platform.
