Copper Prices Rebound Amid Stock Market Stabilization
What happened
Copper prices rebounded on Friday, gaining 1.8% to $14,334 a metric ton, after a sharp decline in the previous session. This recovery was supported by stabilizing stock markets and slowing inventory build-up. Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank in Copenhagen, noted that the bounce in Nasdaq futures might be encouraging metals investors.

Why it matters
The rebound suggests that easing concerns over enormous funding needs for AI and a rout in global tech shares are supporting metals markets. However, Hansen cautioned that concerns about excess copper stocks in the United States and the risk of tariffs could continue to weigh on prices.
