Atrium Adds 12 Hospitals to North Carolina State Health Plan's Access Tier

Atrium Health announced a new partnership with the North Carolina State Health Plan, adding 12 Atrium hospitals and associated clinics to the plan’s Access level. This agreement includes affordability commitments from Atrium Health to support the long-term sustainability of the Plan. For members, benefits when visiting rural hospitals in specific counties will be nearly identical to current year's benefits for out-of-pocket and deductible costs.

The partnership aims to improve member access while requiring reduced prices from Atrium Health compared to what they are currently charging. The new provider tier system is noted as a path toward forging partnerships with all of the state’s leading hospital systems.

Novant Health, North Carolina State Health Plan, and Iredell Health System previously voted on including these entities in the preferred provider tier.
