What happened
TGS announced an agreement with Empresa Nacional de Pesquisa e Exploração Petrolíferas E.P. (PetroGuin) to reprocess the JAAN 3D seismic dataset across Guinea-Bissau on a multi-client basis. TGS will apply advanced imaging technologies to reprocess more than 11,000 km of 3D seismic data, building on previous work from 2019. The project is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with final products expected in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Why it matters
The improved imaging quality from the reprocessing is expected to enhance the assessment of clastic and carbonate targets, giving explorers greater confidence when evaluating prospectivity. PetroGuin stated that this collaboration supports the sustainable growth of Guinea-Bissau’s oil and gas sector.
