PIA Imposes Strict New Operational Conduct Rules for Cabin Crew

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced new operational conduct rules for its cabin crew regarding tobacco products. The airline issued a circular stating that air hostesses are only permitted to possess one packet of cigarettes during flight duty, with a limit of twenty cigarettes per single flight duty. The new policy prohibits carrying cigarettes, cigars, or other tobacco products in personal luggage. Furthermore, the rules mandate a complete ban on smoking during flights, hotel stays, and in public places while crew members are on duty.

The new policy is expected to create challenges for crew members who are habitual smokers. PIA management has directed all crew members to ensure full compliance with the new policy. Any violation of these strict operational rules will result in immediate suspension or disciplinary proceedings, including potential removal from flight duties.
