Pomona Leadership Supports Audit into Metrolink Operational and Safety Issues

Metrolink, the regional passenger rail system, is reportedly facing challenges due to reduced ridership and budget shortfalls. LA Metro Board Member Tim Sandoval stated that Metrolink is having difficulty sourcing necessary parts for its locomotive fleet, which may be compromising safety. Sandoval, who is also the Mayor of Pomona, led a motion approved for LA Metro to conduct a comprehensive audit into Metrolink's issues regarding parts and safety concerns.

The audit targets the operational and supply chain issues within the regional passenger train agency. This includes the ability to secure parts for the rolling stock and address safety concerns. Metrolink acknowledged the request, stating it welcomes the opportunity to provide information regarding its operations and safety standards.
