Uzbekistan Allocates $228.5M for Agricultural Subsidies and Reforms

Uzbekistan has allocated 2.7 trillion soums (approximately $228.5 million) for agricultural subsidies in 2026. The country is reforming its state support for farmers by introducing a results-based subsidy model starting next year. This model links subsidies to indicators such as crop yields, water and energy savings, and output produced per unit of resources used.

The government plans to expand agricultural insurance coverage to 45,000 enterprises and 60% of agricultural output by 2027. The new system requires data collection from government information systems to evaluate recipients, reducing human involvement in the payment process.
